Sports, automobiles, work, and home all have risk factors. When unforeseen occurrences befall your teeth, it's handy to know of an emergency dentist ready to aid Bellevue patients.
Discover now helpful hints on handling those initial painful or panic-filled moments:
A Toothache: Call our office and explain your symptoms, asking to be seen as soon as possible. Then ease the pain by taking an over-the-counter pain medication that works for you. However do not put a pill on your sore tooth! Hold an ice pack against your face at the location of the sore tooth. (Note: Avoid using heating pads, a hot water bottle, or any other source of heat on your jaw.)
Chipped or broken teeth: Broken teeth can almost always be saved with our emergency dentist for the Bellevue area. If it's a small break, a filling may be all that’s required. If the break is serious, a root canal with a protective crown can return full function to your smile.
Knocked out teeth: An adult tooth precisely resituated within 10 minutes of breaking free has a fair chance of rooting again; after 2 hours chances are poor. See us as soon as possible!
Fillings Lost: Believe it or not, the American Dental Association suggests placing a piece of softened sugarless chewing gum in the spot where the filling once was. This will protect the area for a short period of time until you can get to our office.
